Storms Family Foundation Testimonial
The establishment of the Doris and Mark Storms Chair in Compassionate Communication held by Dr. Cliff Coleman, MD, MPH has supported Dr. Coleman in his leadership of an institution-wide initiative to make OHSU a model “health literate organization” by making health information easier to understand and use for every patient and family every step of the way, every time leading to a more empathetic, compassionate, and less stressful health care experience. As Dr. Coleman puts it, “The progress we’ve made in transforming health professions education to improve the experiences of patients and families would not have been possible without the visionary support of the Storms Family Foundation.” We are grateful to the Storms Family Foundation for their support in helping us lead and innovate toward a day when all healthcare professionals and institutions are equipped to deliver care with the kind of compassion that everyone wants and deserves.
